Ok so I went dress shopping once already with my mom and I'm going again on Sunday with my mom and my sister, who are both very opinionated. My mom has it in her head not to even think about ordering a dress until October or November and I wanted it ordered more like August or September. She is looking foward to shopping but then she will make comments about waiting. I'm just nervous that I'm going to go shopping and find 'the dress' and then my mom will talk me out of ordering it just b/c she feels I shouldnt be placing the order yet.
I've been looking foward to dress shopping with my mom and my sister since I was a little girl and now that its here I'm really nervous that they are going to try and talk me out of ordering a dress if I find one I LOVE. I just want it to be a great bonding experience for all of us. Am I freaking out over nothing?

Don't freak out..once your mom sees you in THE one and how happy you are she will just say to order...my mom was the same way...trust me!

I do not think you are freaking out over nothing- It depends on the dress and the bridal shop but some stores will tell you that you should order your gown 10-12 months in advance. I would just try to enjoy the experience and worry about placing the order when you find the dress. You can always go back alone and order it.

I found it really helpful to tell my mom how I felt and the nerves I was feeling beforehand. She was then great when we were there and I got my dress and I could tell she was conciously watching her sometimes harsh opinions.

hey! you're not freaking out over nothing! My Mom is like that with looking around at a million things and waiting! To me it's better to get it sooner than later so you have it! (if you LOVE it)

My mom is the same way. I went dress shopping with my a good friend. I found it to be much easier. The less people you have for input the better. When I decide on a dress, then I took my mom JMO!
But, don't worry you and your mom will find the perfect dress

Aww! I think you'll have a great time trying on dresses with them but once they see you in the dress you know is the one their feelings will change about waiting to order it!
My mother was the TOTAL opposite. She couldn't sit still until we went dress shopping. She wanted me to buy the very first one. Each one thereafter all I got was, 'IS THIS IT??? IS THIS THE ONE? SHOULD WE ORDER IT NOW?' I wish she would have been more rational about it but I wound up with the ONE in the end!
