Hi all! Well even though the wedding isnt until 09/06, we're trying to find a place for the reception now, hopefully one that offers a ceremony on the premises & I just wanted to get some ideas about where to look, where we should stay away from. I started looking at East Wind & Lands End. Any ideas, either good or bad places? Thanks!! --Lanie

Re: Not sure where to start first !!!
Hello, congratulations, and welcome! I know it can all seem overwhelming at first, but you should really think about what you want your wedding to be. first and foremost is budget. Determine approx how many people you are inviting and how much you are willing to spend per person. Factor in tax and gratuity. Then ask yourself if you want a waterfront wedding, a country club wedding, and old fashioned wedding, a contemporary wedding. This should be able to narrow down the search for catering halls. Its never too early to start!!

Re: Not sure where to start first !!!
Hi welcome...
we're also planning a 06 and we're starting to look for halls as well.
First thing we did was make a sensible budget on what we wanted to spend on the hall so that we can narrow it down to what fits into our price range (try to get one of those wedding sites & services magazine...they help alot when trying to eliminate). We made a list so that we have at least a definate minimum number. Next we choose a few dates that we would want and now we're in the middle of calling to make appointments to get more affirmative price ranges...
god I'm stressed...lol lol

Welcome and congrats
I am getting married at Land's End and the ceremony will be outside. Of course I only have amazing things to say about Land's End!
East Wind and Land's End are very far apart. Don't forget to consider how far everyone will have to drive.
Again, welcome

Hi and Welcome (and congrats!) I agree with the previous post that it's going to depend a lot on your budget and the # of people that you may have at your wedding. My suggestion is completely biased, but check out Port Jeff Country Club (now catered by Lombardis). Beautiful location, one wedding at a time, you can have ceremony on-site, great food. You already have two other fantastic choices on your list, both are great too. Have fun with the hunt!!!

Im biased too...check out Hamlet Willow Creek... she'll send you a DVD of the place... they are almost finished building it and have pre-construction prices that are great!

Well congrats!! Obviously Im going to recommend my favorite The North Ritz Club but I also looked at the Watermill and if it wasn't that they had another party room the decision might have been difficult for us. Both have unbelievable food and decor. The gardens are beautiful and each have waterfalls and outside cocktail hours. Good Luck hope you find what your looking for. Happy New Year
