Not the usual first dance song question - please help!

Not the usual first dance song question - please help!

So our first dance song is 'You Light Up My Life' and we have already taken 3 dance lessons and choreographed most of the song.
With all the recent news about the composer of the song being a serial rapist we are wondering if it is still appropriate??
Is there another pretty song with a similar beat that we can use our dance for? I would really hate to start over

I didn't know that, and bet most of your guests won't. Don't worry about it!

I'm pretty sure no one will realize that. I think you're safe.

OMG that's really creepy . . . but I agree, I kinda doubt people would know that. How did you find out? Is this common knowledge, because if it is then I'd probably change the song. That stinks, I'm not sure what I'd do. I'm sorry!

Also wanted to add . . . if you do decide to change it, I would ask my coreographer for a song with similar beat to replace it. They should be good at coming up with one if necessary!

Honestly? Dont worry about it!

Unless YOU PERSONALLY are going to think 'rapist rapist' when you are at your wedding.

The man is NOT the song. You are NOT honoring him, just love the song for what it is.

But do what YOU feel is right.

I heard about it and honestly I wouldn't use the song. Your choreographer should be able to find a suitable alternative. I would ask them...

I would look at 'love changes everything' from the musical 'aspects of love'.

The music is similar. Its what I think I will walk down theaisle to.

Being that you are so close to your wedding, and you have put alot of preparation into the dance, I think you should consider still using it. Unless you find a song you are equally happy with.

I don't think your guests will realize the connection between the song and the composer while your dancing...they will be 'in the moment.'

Theres alot of other singers out there that committed crimes, involved in scandals...but people still listen to their songs. IMO
