Not this month

Not this month

We've been TTC since Sept. but it hasn't happened yet. I'm just getting more depressed with each passing month. (I bought an O predictor kit;can't remember the brand. It's the kind where you put some saliva on a round piece of glass, then look at it under a special light. I'm supposed to see something that looks like fern leaves; that means I'm fertile) I've been getting a negative reading each time, so I've given up. I tried just tracking the days on the calendar, and I thought I had it right, but obviously I haven't.

Maybe I should just not think about it and let things happen on their own.....

You can try charting? I did it and got PG the first time using that method! I also used OPK test at the same time. It might be a pain taking your temp to some people, but I actually found it extremely interesting on how the body worked. I knew when I was 'O', if I was PG, and if you're not, you know that ahead of time too! I couldn't wait to take my temps in the morning. It was exciting for me. I use Fertility Friend.com. It's free! You just need that and a Basal Body Thermometer and you're all set!

I've been using that site to chart, and it is very informative. And even besides the chart, the site has an online manual that had tons of info on how to tell when you are fertile. I've learned a lot about TTC just by reading it.
And don't stress too much, that could negatively effect you.

Since we've only started trying a few months ago, I haven't gone to the doctor. If it goes longer than a year, I'll make an appt.

I know how you feel - so many of us are in the same boat as you.
I've been using the opk sticks - where you pee on it and it gives a positive or negative result. They have been working - (as far as letting me know when I'm ovulating!) So maybe give those a try.
My Dr. also put me on clomid.

eta: just saw your last post about the Dr.

Not my month either
AF just showed up today. But it's been weird; it hasn't felt normal and I've heard that some women can get a period and still be pregnant. AF is not in full flow yet so I may test when I get home. I feel like crap right now though (physically and emotionally).

Good luck to you though!

Re: Not this month

This is too funny, I just had to share....

Just started reading MIDDLESEX, and i'm only on page 14, but this passage was just perfect. A couple is trying to have another child, (they really want a girl) Milton, the husband brings his wife Tessie a gift.

'A thermometer,' said Tessie.
'That's not just any thermometer,' said Milton. 'I had to go to 3 pharmacies to find one of these.'
'A luxery model,huh?' said Tessie
'That's right,' said Milton. 'That's what you call a basal thermometer. it reads the temperature down to a thenth of a degree.....Try it out...'
'But I don't have a fever', said Tessie.
'This isn't about a fever. you use it to find out what your base temperature is,' said Milton.
'Next time bring me a necklace,' said Tessie.
