Not to be negative or anything but...

...what will you guys do if your wedding date approaches and you don't have all the money to pay for everything. I'm asking because I really don't know what FH an I would do...Not sure if our family's would consider helping but we definitely don't want to take out a loan. Any ideas?

FH has a decent amount in savings. As much as it would be painful to dip into a house fund in order to pay wedding bills, if we had to do it, we would.

Trying my damndest not to let that happen though.

hopefully this doesnt happen but if we do come up short we are gonna have to borrow from our parents and then pay them back with some money we get for the wedding.

Fh has money in savings, so I would have to try and get him to take some out, but that money is for a house so I really don't want to take It out!

I would prob just have to cut some things out and try to down grade on some of the stuff that I'm getting from my vendors. I hope I dont have a money prob though

we are in this discussion now. We are looking like we will be 1.5k short with tips and all. We are debating between asking his parents for a loan, or seeing if my school loans come in on time. If we do the school loans, we are cutting close, as they come in Jan 6, the wedding is Jan 17, and it needs to clear from the school and get to me.

We are cutting back so we will definitely not have this problem. It sux but you have enough time to still scale back things so you dont go broke.

Same. We figured it out and we will be short about 5k exclusing the honeymoon. (FH is taking care of paying for the honeymoon. we go on one big trip a year and our honeymoon is 2010's big trip obviously). Might have to borrow from parents or dip into money we get as gifts the day of the wedding to cover the costs.

ask your vendors to work with you..most of the time, they ask that deposits be paid on a certain schedule.

For pictures/video, 75% of the payment is due the week of the wedding but we pay the remaining balance when we pick up the actual proofs or albums. So if you are low on cash - tell some vendors that you are wiling to wait 3-6 months more to pick up Albums in order to save up $$ for the final Balance of the deposit due.

FH already said if we come up short he will make-up the rest himself. But it looks like we will be ok.

We're actually going to visit this in a couple of weeks and if we are short then we are going to try and see if we can work something out with the RH. If they won't budge, then we are going to postpone until we can pay for it. We won't have any other choice. We're already getting money from our parents and can't ask for any more.

Might have my dad lend us money until we get some money from the wedding or take out a loan, which we really don't want to do. It's getting all the money in advance that's the problem. I think we'll be able to cover our balances with what our guests give us.

We thought that we might be coming up short since we had additional expenses-so we are not going to book a Florist.

I'm just going to make my centerpieces with candles and hurricane votives. I figured that the flower budget of $1,500.00-$2000.00 we can use towards tips and any other vendors. And my bridesmaids were really sweet and offered to help me make any DIY projects.

Also-hair and makeup-I'm going to a salon near my venue on the day of to get it done-so I saved on that as well.

And the Rehersal dinner we might just cook at home and invite everyone over instead of a restaurant.
