We hired a planner and realized a way to cut cost was to not hire a florist, buy the flowers at wholesale, and arrange centerpieces and decorations ourselves. We'll still use a florist for bouquets. I want to know if anyone has ever done this or thinks that this is a bad idea. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

I have heard iof brides buying flowers at Costco or a place like that and making their own simple centerpieces. You can even just use candles and rose petals on each table!

It's a really good idea. And I'm sure it will save tons of $$. I don't know anyone who has done this, but go for it.

I also heard aboutCOSTCO> You can go ther or order them online. Speak to a manger @ COSTCO. IKEA is a great place to buy cheap simple vases. Add some ribbon and voila!!!

I did this for my engagement party. 16 tables and about total cost of $600. Took 4 of us 2 whole days.
