I am definitely not uding those wedding cameras...
so, I am going to buy (w/flash) a Kodak...do you think I have to put the camera in a cute bag..or do you think people would/should just know what to do!
(And if so, is a poem necessary??)

Don't even bother with the poem. It's a nice gesture,(we did it for our E-party) but cameras still disappeared Some people just don't get the concept. If you insist on having them I would have the DJ to make an announcement also JMHO

Honestly, I think those cameras are a waste. Thats what you have a photographer for, and you know that your friends and family will bring their own cameras and they will send you their pictures. With the disposables, people will try to take the same pics as your photog - the cake cutting, first dance, etc. You have to pay for the cameras, and then pay to get them developed to maybe get a few good pics out of them. Just not worth IMO.

We're doing a photo scavenger hunt. Complete with a poem and a list of 10 things for people to take a picture of. Each list includes a table picture (so my professional photographer doesn't waste any time on this), and a bunch of fun things (like a picture of the groom with another guest named John - there will be two). I am making a 'tent' out of cardstock and putting it over the camera with the necessary info printed on the cardstock.

I would attach a poem but don't put it in a bag. People might think that's someone's camera and not realize that it's there for the whole table to use.

This is exactly what we are doing! Only instead of a regular guest book we are having a photo album. Each guest or couple will have their pic taken by my nephew and then they will be asked to personalize the bottom (you know, the white part of the polaroid). For us, it's also a great way to have my nephew be involved in thw wedding!

We left them on the tables with no explaination , and got them all back with some great pics (and some crappy ones, too!).
I have seen people put labels that they printed on their computer - they were the white ones you might use for mail, I think. They has a short saying on there about taking pics and leaving on the table. I don't remember the wording, it was a long time ago.

Maybe it is just my friends and family, but we have gotten pics from TWO people - my brother and one friend. And practically everyone had cameras. We got some pretty good shots with the table cameras, so for us, it was definately worth it. JMHO.

I wanna do a schanver hunt (spl) for my wedding. So I'm leaving a small list of pics to take. I'm also going to be setting up the seating and I'll make sure that every table there is someone I've talked to personally to make sure the cameras don't disapear.
