Not wedding related.

Not wedding related.

I was wondering if anyone could help me. My dog has been having these 'attacks' I call them. She kind of gags but doesnt throw up and when I rub her throat to calm her down there is a big lump in her throat. At first I thought she was choking on something but she is even having them in her sleep. Has anyone ever seen this happen to their dog or has any idea what could be wrong?

She might have something stuck in her throat or possibly a hair ball? I would take her to the vet today.

I just don't want them ripping me off. That is what vets like to do. They will say they need to do this and that and tell me nothing is wrong with her.

I would take your dog to the vet. I wouldn't worry about being ripped off by the vet. They'll give you their opinion on what should be done and then you can make a decision. Believe me, my dog is 17 years old and she goes the vet if she sneezes wrong!!! I never ever felt like I was being ripped off.

I can assure you, that is NOT what all vets like to do. Sometimes, blood tests are necessary (can detect cancer, anemia, and many, many more diseases), x-rays are necessary is a mass is suspected, I could go on and on.

If you think your dog is sick, take her to the vet! I'm not sure anyone here can diagnose your pet! I'd rather pay to find out how to help my pets, than to let them suffer because I don't want to get 'ripped off'.

Your right. This dog means everything to me, if anything ever happened to her I would be destroyed.

If she was just gagging - I have seen that before and it is nothing. The fact that there is a lump makes it more serious. I would take her to the vet. Good luck! I hope she is okay!

Good for you. We (okay, I) was hysterical when that happened to my pup and it wound up he had an infection that needed antibiotics. It could be something as simple as that but I think you are very smart for taking her in. She'll give you tons of kisses for it!
