My friend's bridesmaids are wearing a little black dress. She found it at ann taylor - celebrations collection. You may also want to try Jcrew for not so bridesmaid looking dress.

We are getting it shorten (but keeping the bottom detail) and this pictures does NO JUSTICE. It's really well cut and was really flattering.

Have you considered getting them made to suit your personal style/taste? There are lots of fabric stores in the city that sells materials for great prices, all you need to do, is find a seamstress that can make the dresses for you. Some fabric stores even recommends the seamstresses. I've found that many brides on this site has used seamstresses and they're dresses looked so wonderful...couldn never tell that they used a reg. seamstress as oppose to purchasing in a store.

I was just going to suggest that. I am leaning towards those dresses as well.

Just try your average Macy's store. My cousin wore one for her brother's wedding. She got a lot of use out of it. She's worn it several times!

I think misunderstood your post before....ha ha...
Check Pricilla's of Boston.....i really like some of their stuff.
Also, i'm going to look off the rack for my girls. I'm not into the bridesmaid dress thang either. I told my girls that this summer/spring they better start looking at dresses. I figure if we find something at department store that works, why not go with it?

I used Ann taylors celebration collection. I did long a-line gowns but they do cute little balck dresses. Very cute and simple!!! They are gorgeous silk and or silk/satin material!!

jasmine B2 has some nice dresses. if you really want the not-so-average bridesmaid dress though, maybe just look at some department stores (lord and taylor, etc.)

I love Jcrews dresses for this year; So cute. Balck of this shiny material not liek satin but with a sheen like a silk shantung. Really pretty and more casual.
We used Bari Jay for our BM dresses because I didnt want gowns. The girl who wore it in red, has actually worn her dress again since then.
These could all be reworn so many times. In the one by where i work, they have one of these with this pink ribbon sash around the waist and a silk flower pinned there-looks sooo nice.

if each of your girls is looking to wear something different in the same fabric, try simple silhouettes.
www.simple dress.com (take out space)
they use a silk shantung material which is really light and not poofy at all. they are guaranteed to be able to use them again. all their styles come in knee, tea and full length. i have five girls and they each got a different style to suit their body type. they all look great in them

I 2nd trying Nordstrom (store) or Nordstrom online. They have a TON of dresses, and their customer service is fantastic--plus, if you want to return, you can bring it to the store in Roosevelt Field.
