Not your typical bride - vent/advice

Not your typical bride - vent/advice

Ok so I am definitely NOT your typical 'I'm the bride I'm in charge' type of person. I am one of those people that want to avoid drama at any and all costs. I would much rather my bridal party get along and be happy than do things my way and have people be annoyed or fighting. My MOH and FSIL are very much alike in that they are both loud, opinionated and can be bitchy if someone is bitchy with them. Needless to say, there will be head-butting going on and I seriously am beyond being able to handle that! My FSIL made a comment to me about how there's head butting going on with the shower plans, and I nearly had a nervous breakdown. I felt sick to my stomach all day long and my MOH was PISSED that my FSIL even got me involved at all, b/c she knew I'd feel like that. At the end of the day, my FSIL called my MOH and they discussed things like adults so I did feel better.

I know its easy for you others to say I should just not get involved and stop worrying about it, but that isn't me at all. I tend to be a very emotional person so it's very hard for me to just 'relax.' We are having our engagement party this weekend and I am already a nervous wreck about it, thinking that there might be a disagreement or something. I do have Xanax and am trying not to take it alot LOL. I am going to see my therapist tonight and plan to discuss all this with her - hopefully she can offer some insight as to things I can go to calm down! Anyway, I just wanted to vent a little and see if there is anyone else out there like me LOL! Thanks ladies!

I can understand where you are coming from. I think there are probably a lot of brides on here like us! I do not think it was right for your FSIL to tell you that there was some dissent ... or difference of opinion ... You shouldn't HAVE to worry about it, and if she knows you at all she should know that you would ... they should have (glad they did) worked it out all on their own. Sorry you had to get worried about it!

I actually would get involved to let them know I don't want drama on my day, and that I chose them to support me, not to add to my stress level.

OMG! they are causing you more stress than the wedding. maybe you should think about sitting down with each of them seperately and telling them how this is affecting you.

you wont seem like one of 'those brides' if you jsut tell them simply that their fighting is causing you stress and it is taking away from your happiness on one of the biggest days of your life.
