yeah it's definitely possible. there are plenty of vendors out there who won't be booked on your chosen day, you've just got to search for them! good look and congrats!

It's definitely possible! We got engaged in December and the wedding's in May. I was even able to book my first choice RH!

CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement! And welcome to the site. You will quickly find that it's highly addictive!! There's a lot of great info on this site!
There's a checklist by the original poster so you can gauge what you need to do first. I've heard a lot of people say that once you find your ceremony & reception sites, then everything else will fall into place. And from experience, it really is true. So, I'd recommend researching and booking those first.
Then focus on the major vendors, like photo, video, DJ, florist. They'll all ask where your ceremony/reception will be held, how many guests (approx), the time of your event, and your approx budget. Before focusing on any of this though, plan an estimate for your budget and it'll be easier to allocate $$ to each vendor as necessary. There are a bunch of threads on here about budgets (both generous & tight), and how to negotiate/haggle with vendors to get the best price/value for your wedding without compromising quality.

Firstly congratulations! and secondly, absolutely you can pull it off...A friend got engaged middle of April and was married end of August. It was beautiful.

Hello possible date twin! There are lots of vendors out there. It might be hard to get the one that book up quick, but you can find them.
I would start by finding a reception location

i think you can def do it.....as long as you can afford it then i dont see any problems - the only reason our engagement was stretched was because we wouldnt have the money in time and we want to pay for it all in cash - im assuming that is the reason most of us have a year or longer engagement ....like the other girls said, i would start by finding the RH and ceremony location, then your entertainment (DJ or band) and photographer - everything else will fall into place.....CONGRATS!!
