im planning on sending mine in January, i dont know something about sending them in nov 2009 for something thats nov 2010 seems like too much notice lol jmo, but at least in january itll be 2010 so itll seem closer and i think more reasonable

I think you should wait until after the holidays and all the hustle and bustle. Send them out in January.
09er crashing- I'm a november bride and I think you should definitely send them out after the holidays are over. You're more likely to run the risk that people lose/throw out your STD if it is mixed in with holiday cards. Plus it makes more sense if people have their 2010 calendars already so they can jot the date down in case they do lose/throw out the STD (which will happen considering some people can't even keep track of the wedding invitation and the pre-addressed, stamped RSVP card...lol).
I personally think you should let the holiday's pass and then send them out....I wouldn't want them getting caught up or misplaced among the holiday cards.....January would be perfect, new year and enough time to prepare for your wedding!!!!!!!!
09er crashing...I would definitely wait until after the holidays. I'm a November bride and we sent our save the dates out in March. It's enough time for everyone and the people who you really want to come already know the date. HTH
i sent mine 9 mths before and its plenty of time...you can def send it out in Jan..even Feb.
I had planned to do them at the year mark -- and now am wondering what to do. My only concern is that I have a lot of out of towners and want them to have plenty of time to plan
