Re: NOW ABOUT THE GROOM.......
I had the same exact problem, and I think that a lot of girls go through the same thing. First things first, he's a guy, how excited can we expect a man to get over flowers or china or anything else that is not in their nature to care about? (Personally, this doesn't cut it for me, but I thought I would start with that.) JT was not excited at all, and his excuse was that it's so far away that he feels like being excited now is pointless. Ok, I can see his point, but it's OUR WEDDING, not just some party. But now that it's getting towards the time that we are seriously putting deposits down, he is more excited. We had a long talk about what he wants to be involved with and what he could care less about, and that really helped. I suggest having a similar talk with your FH. Honestly, do you really want him to put his two cents in on flowers and colors and other things that you wouldn't budge on even if he DID have an opinion? That's how I look at it. My mom helped me realize this. She basically said, 'Rachel, you want him to be excited about flowers, but if he tells you he doesn't like your centerpieces, will you really listen to him and change them? No? Ok, so there you go, don't even ask him about it then!' And I took her advice, and now we're at a happy medium

Re: NOW ABOUT THE GROOM.......
u know i felt like that in the begining, i just told him that i'm going to do everything! the olny thing that he has to worry about is being there on the 19th (it was a joke of course) but the more time that goes by the more excited i get and the more he forgets about it. i will have that conversation w/ him thanks

Re: NOW ABOUT THE GROOM.......
My DH was over-involved with the wedding planning.
Of course his input is valued and necessary for the bigger things like choosing a location, photographer, etc. It's something we both need to feel comfortable about and they are big expenses.
But when it got down to flowers, invites and table cloths - seriously?? It was a big freakin' pain in the @ss!!!
It took me from February to July to convince him that a monochromatic table decor is elegant. First I had to come up with pictures and then that wasn't good enough. Then he wanted to see samples. Then he wanted to see samples at the reception place. And on and on.

Re: NOW ABOUT THE GROOM.......
Yeah - I go back and forth with him too! Most of the 'smaller' things right now - he couldn't care less about - but that's not necessarily bad - he was driving me crazy at the reception hall with something particular he wanted for desser (which of course cost us more money)! We did most of the 'big' stuff together...but smaller stuff - he is leaving to me - for example - he told me pretty much that he is not going to come with me the first time I look at invites (b/c he knows I'll be there all day) but he'll come the second time - when I have picked out a couple I like - and then we can decide (or argue) ha ha - together. Obviously, we are all very focused on the wedding right now - but he keeps telling me that it is one day - and what he is thinkjing about is after - the marriage!

Re: NOW ABOUT THE GROOM.......
i had that problem till i gave him specific things to do - i started out small by asking him to pick the song that the bridal party would be announced to - then when he gave me a choice i said ok ( we are using the theme song from ghostbusters- lmao ) hay sometimes you got to give a little .... no he is more interested in stuff he gives his opinion when he finds something he likes - i mean he isnt helping to plan stuff but at least he is trying - oh btw his latest decision is to have the cake cutting ala alfred hitchcock - he is having someone dress up as al and bring up the knife to cut the cake with the alfred hitchcock theme song playing in the background - the bm is going to outline the alfred wanna be in marker on a piece of paper then we are going to hang it up on the wall so he can walk into it like on the tv show - ( i think the whole idea is really odd but both the fh and his ushers are really excited about it - so i figured we have to give the guys something it is after all his wedding to...) so maybe you wont be as extreame as we are but try small stuff and maybe he will come around too

Big things, he's helping out, little things are up to me. I just don't want to drive him nuts about all the little things out there. He has enough things to worry about.

Re: NOW ABOUT THE GROOM.......
Ok i definitely feel alone in this process. He actually helped me seal envelopes the other night, and I thought that was a big deal. But tonight I had my hair trial, and I asked if we could go out to dinner...since I have this beautiful hair style. He said he isn't in the mood and he rather eat a home cooked meal...so he is at his mother's eating ? Hello, did he miss the 'POINT' ? So I asked him if he will get here in time to see my hair, and he still isn't home. I will give it one more hour and then I am taking a shower...ehhh,,...sometimes this is a lonely process....my matron of honour isn't that interested and my maid of honour lives in boston so she isn't around for these 'moments' ...my mom well, she has been a big support.
