now city hall decides to do metal detectors

hello...if this was done a long time ago today wouldnt have happened.

sometimes it takes a tragedy to realize something, but this tragedy should not have happened.

I love the city especially downtown. Downtown has suffered so much. But now I am starting to get a little nervous about the city.

What shocks me is security has been really tight downtown since 9/11 especially near the Wall Street area, why was security not tight at city hall???

I agree - they should have been using them previous to this incident.

So sad that someone has to lose their life in order to do something about employee safety.

They DID have metal detectors. But it was decided that councilmen didn't have to go through them...and since the murderer (sorry, forget his name) was with Davis, HE didn't have to go thru the detector either. WHEN will we, as a nation, LEARN from our mistakes?!? Why are we such a 'can't/don't do anything until it happens' nation?? Ugh.

Sorry, this just chaps my a s s.

Lori absolutly right..someone has to lose their life in order to do something about employee safety or just safety in general.

why? because this city needs to get their ass in gear & tighten up security everywhere now, not wait till incidents like this occur.

I like the city to shop or have dinner, but I will not work there.
Not for me anymore.

CP I agree with you. I think their should be NO exceptions. I think everyone including the Mayor should have to go through the detectors.

I think it takes a life to be lost to realize a mistake. Making everyone go through the metal detectors is not going to bring Davis back, and it shouldnt be 'oops we're sorry, its a mistake we learned' incident.

This incident should have never happened.

It really makes me mad that someone has to loose their life to have something get done.
