Now FMIL took me back abit last night

FH and i were watching American Idol (or rather i was watching it and making him watch it). He lives downstairs in the basement so she always yells down the stairs to talk to him. So she yells down for me and wants my opinion on something. (i thought it was going to be about American Idol)

instead she says....

'Do you think it's right that my son or my daughter didn't get me a card for Valentines Day'

obv this was very unexpected so i'm lke umm.. umm.. what? lol
She then asks me if i got my mom a card for Vday and i said no, but felt weird so i said, 'but i guess it's different with a mom and son.' (i am so forgetful with cards.. FH is lucky if he ever gets a card lol)
So she says, 'well.. it's not right their dad (who is deceased and they were divorced when FH was 8) taught them to always get their mother a card.' i'm lik umm.... (thats how my part of the conversation pretty much went)

it was just weird.. like, she was going through me to make her son feel guilty. Not the most plesent experience.

yeah.. my mother gives me enough guilt trips... now i get to be in the middle of more!!! lol

Ugh sounds like something my FMIL would do.

That's why I just send my mother and FMIL flowers every year for V-day and Mother's day courtesy of FH and me. He would forget on his own.

my mom does stuff like that to my fh all the time!!!! its awkward for him and embarrassing to me
