Now I need shoes

OK, I need a good place for shoes. Looking for cheap but comfortable. I live in Queens and work in Manhattan.

I am not obsessing over what they look like; they will be covered by my dress. So plain is fine.

My dress is an ivory champagne color. If I get a dyable; can I take them with me when I purchase them for my first fitting, and then bring them back to the store to be died?
