Now I think there's something wrong with Daisy....advice or help please?!
I woke up this morning and let the dog out as usual. When she was sitting by the door to be let back in I noticed some thing weird on her back. It looks like she was attacked by a bunch of mosquitoes around her but to mid back area. The bites are approx. about 1/4 inch - 1/2 inch in diameter each (there has to be at least 25). Now under her right eye it looks a little (just a little but I noticed) swollen. She's acting normal, breathing normal, and actually is paying no mind to the bumps which is why I think maybe they're not mosquito bites??? Could this just be a freak mosquito bite attack?? Or should I be very concerned. I left a message for the vet to call me (she gets in in about a half hour). I'm just nervous cause I've never seen anything like this before and can't find anything about it on the internet.

Don't stress out until the doctor calls you back. . .are you sure it is bites? this may sound stupid, but can it be hives. . did you feed your dog new food or anything or start using a new carpet powder that it could have rubbed up against?? it could be new laundry detergent if you let him lay in your bed . . . .or even if you hold him a lot.
I wouldn't think it was mosquitos

perhaps it could be bee stings? maybe she uncovered a hive ? (they can be underground too) or maybe she has an allergy to mosquitoes and that's why the bites are so noticeable?
i'm sure its nothing too serious and the vet will recommend something to bring down the swelling.

I am sure it is nothing... but i would just wait to hear from the vet.... she probably just was playing around and accidentally hit a bee hive and they unfortunately attacked her....
Keep us posted!

see what the vet says, it doesnt sound serious but it might be worth getting checked out so that you dont have to worry! my dog broke out in hives all over her face and ears, they were red lumps and she was so swollen that her face looked deformed. it was really scary. i rushed her to the vet and they gave her a cortisone shot and some meds for the reaction. we finally found out that it is from an antibiotic that she is allergic too b/c it happened on two seperate occasions and both times she was taking the meds......good luck with daisy!!!

There's nothing new we used or gave her that I can think of. There's now some smaller ones on the top of her head. An allergic reaction was my first guess but I'm just going to keep going nuts and being a worried mommy until the vet calls. Jeez if it's not one thing it's another...I've been permanently worried for the past 5 days now...right when FMIL started doing better Daisy gets this

Melissa... if you have Benadryl in the house, give her half a tab... it should make any swelling go down and make her more comfortable if she's scratching. Half tab should be fine... we give half to Coop (he's 20lbs) when his skin gets irriatated.
Is she on any flea & tick meds like Frontline or Advantix? Since she goes outside and it's still so warm out, she should still be on these things... if she never was on these things, you should put her on them now.

Just wait for the vet. You might have to bring her in. Dont worry though if she is eating and doing all her normal things. It could be she got into something and had a little reaction. Dont worry though and def wait for the vet's advise!
Good luck!!!

There is a chance that it's a cyst. My poodley dog fluffer bear Jeffrey used to get bumps on him & we paniced at first - but the doc told us he was just cystic.

We haven't put her on anything for fleas yet. I wasn't sure how young I can start her with that. I'll have to buy that. As for right now the reason I don't think it's flea bites is because she pays them no mind, not scratching on biting on them at all. I'm going to give her the half a Benadryl and see how she does with that until he vet calls. Thx for always being there with all the puppy advice

It could be flea bites.
Have you been giving her any baths? Puppys are really sensitive and it could be a reaction to that.
Wasn't it your puppy who got into the flowers about a week ago?? Could be a reaction to that also!?
Hopefully the vet gets back to you soon with some answers!

Ok this is going to sound a little crazy (and definately wait to hear from the vet) but your dog can have allergies. Mine Does. Seriously I mean during certain times of the year runny nose, itchy skin the whole 9 just like a human.
With the weather not changing over it is taking so much longer for all the symtons to go away. Including skin irritation.
She may have gotten into a bush outside and scratched herself up.
If she isn't paying attention to them then I wouldn't worry to much.
