So there's a check on my checklist that I thought I'd know more about at this point, but I don't. We're supposed to make a toast? I've only been to two weddings my entire adult life and I don't remember if the bride/groom made a toast or not(damn you open bar lol). Anywho...besides thanking your parents and bridal party (I'm assuming that's what I'm supposed to say) what does this toast entail? TIA
I've never been to a wedding where the bride makes a toast. Parents... MOH/BM... yes. But at the wedding... no. If anything you can do a little something like a thank you toast at your RD.

FH and I will do a little thank you speech at the rehearsal, but at the wedding only MOH and BM will toast

I agree with the girls above, if you're going to make a speech, it would be at the rehearsal dinner, not the wedding.

Never been to a wedding where the bride and groom spoke (and I've been to over 10 in the last 3 years).

My brother and sister in law made a quick speech thanking everyone again for coming and thanking both sets of parents for everything- it was a really nice idea. FH and I will be saying something similar.
Dont stress! I dont think speeches fall on us. I'll do a little thank you at the rehearsal but that's it. Public speaking is the last thing i wanna worry about on our wedding day lol

Who are you telling?? We're not even speaking during our ceremony. We opted for the straight forward 'I do' option because we know we'd mess up anything any more complicated than that lol.

Okay - just checking - cuz I kept skipping over it on my checklist but now I can take it off. Since we're not having a rehearsal dinner maybe we'll do a quick thank you depending on how the night goes. I can't guarantee anything after that. Lol Thanks ladies :0)

AMEN!! Lol I'm already worried enough about the few short lines we have to say. Scared I'm gonna be choked up!

definitely not making a toast! I'll say thank you at the RD but nothing at the reception.

FH nephew and niece in law did a thank you 'toast' to everyone who came and was part of their special day. Many came from out of state and it was a nice way of saying thanks for coming all this way and being with us on one of the happiest days of our lives. I say one of because once you have kids their births are also one of the happiest days.
We will be thanking our guests for coming as well. FH has done public speaking and has no problem with it. I have not, but we know everyone there and they love us so they will not judge us and will appreciate the sentiment.
Good luck with your decision and speech/toast if you do it.

A quick thank you is basically what it is. The makers of the check list stress you out by calling it a toast.
It's really just a simple heart felt thank you is all and your guests will appreciate it.
