now that i can vent about it

i got an invite to a housewarming with a registry and it bothered me....
what bothers me is a) i dont like them very much to begin with b) they had an apartment together for like 3 years c)everything on it is expensive

when did people really start loosing all class?

yea that's tacky IMO... Maybe I am niave but I still believe people know better than to go to a housewarming party without a gift.

If they don't they are a-holes and have no class either

I would be embarrassed if this were me and FH. It seems class has gone out the window and I have only noticed this going through the wedding planning process

yeah - registries are for wedding-related parties (e-party, shower, wedding) and baby showers!

and it's extra-rude of them to put only expensive things on it!

Honestly only having expensive items wouldn't bother me. Having a housewarming after living together for 3 years would get under my skin. That's not a housewarming, thats a we really need new stuff so please buy it for us party.

As far as registries go, I have heard of young kids (5 & 6 year olds) having 'registries' on amazon & toys r us for their birthday parties. They call them wish-lists but when the parents sends the invite it says, please purchase an item off so & so's amazon wish list.
