now that you've booked.. where have you looked?

Original post by megan_gallagher

I replied to Jaams' post, she's going to throw out her quotes as she doesn't need them and was offering the information to others.

Well it got me thinking, I know we did a 'how many venues did you see thread'

I figured maybe some girls who are still looking for a hall can check this thread and say 'oh bride123 saw zyx hall, i should FM her and ask her opinion'.

So... I guess I should start:

Verdi's (obv)
Majestic Gardens
Coral House
Stonebridge CC
West Lake Inn
Crest Hollow CC
Atlantis Aquarium
Fox Hollow CC
Terrace on the Park
North Ritz Club
Westbury Manor
Larkfield Manor
The Metropolitan
The Riviera
Manor East
Brentwood CC
The Meadow Club

I think that's all of them... for some reason I think there were more (I did CALL and EMAIL a lot more)

leonards (went to a wedding)
lands end (went to a wedding)
the Hyatt (went to a wedding)
pine hollow cc (went to a wedding)
the elk lodge smithtown (went to a communion- great for a small wedding)

In my case:

Visited:
Fox Hollow
Crest Hollow
Chateau Briand
. . .but we were smitten with Fox Hollow after we visited there, so we just KNEW.

Went to weddings at:
Chateau La Mer (the one in the Bronx--I think that's what it's called)
Swan Club
Jericho Terrace
Chateau Briand
Glen Cove Mansion
Villa Lombardi's

Chateau La Mer is not located in the Bronx. I wish it were...it took me forever to get there. It was a long drive to LI from the BX.

We looked at:
Chateau Briand

We looked at Watermill third but I wasn't sure it was the one... after looking at all of the others and comparing it back to Watermill we decided on it -- plus I took my MOH back to see it second time around and we booked on the spot hehe.

Re: now that you've booked.. where have you looked?

My fiance is from out east so we litterally looked and got price quotes from almost every winery. My fiance's sister had an amazing wedding at Pellegrini, so that was out. So...the ones we serioiusly considered were:

Raphael and Wolfer

Then we went to a few of the Mansions...

Then we looked all the way up in Lake Placid!

Finally we decided on a place up in the catskills that was a mix of everything. We called probably 50 places between Long Island and the Hudson Valley.
