1. I am thankful my plane did not go down over some unchartered desert island leaving me stranded with 40 strange people who harbor deep secrets that affect every minute action and threaten to implode this tiny semblance of civilization we have scraped together.
2. I am thankful I was not abandoned by my birth parents and raised by Santa's Elves thus causing untold heartache and hilarious moments of culture-shock when I am re-introduced to the human world.
3. I am thankful I am not a Camden.

I am thankful for people who miss the point thereby rendering any joke or story so ineffectually unamusing that a person could go hoarse from trying to explain the gag.
I am thankful for the ability to anthropomorphize animals to the point that I always address my cat by her full name when I come home from work. Out of respect.
I am thankful for soup.

I am thankful for the supermarket check out plastic separators that guarantee that my food does not get mixed with the pork rinds of the shopper behind me...
And of course the Camdens, Everwood, repeats of the short-lived Roswell, and Saturday morning 90210 reruns on FX.
