so i know a lot of people have had no-shows (or last minute cancellations at their weddings) ...
is anyone planning on telling the RH a few less people than the number of RSVPs you actually got? So if you get 150 yes's, will you tell the RH 148, for example?
i think it's a good idea ... just in case ... and if everyone shows up after all, then RH can just send a bill later
any cons to doing this?

but if all those 5 people do show up, do you think your RH have trouble trying to seat those extra people? i'm just afraid of squeezing extra people in ...
also, how will seating work? will i still make an escort card for the 'extra' guests but they may not have chairs yet???

I told the RH the exact amount, which sux for us because we had 10 no shows that day that I had no clue about until we were sitting down for dinner and I was doing a scan of the room

I got the idea that after the wedding they 'settle up' to the actual number that attended. I am planning on telling them the exact number. I would feel bad if there were not place settings for people

this could be a tricky situation. you give the seating cards to the RH to set up & you have to let them know how many seats are needed at each table.

i will have a seat for everyone on the seating chart - the girl i did my menu with told me i should say less

I think I might tell them like 5 less....people have told me to do that. I hate to think that people wont show last minute...but i hear it happens all the time.

I did 5 less and that day I had my DOC tell them that they needed to add seats and these people were last minute yes guests. The rh had no problem and we ended up having 3 no shows...but the rh didnt make me pay for the other people!

I did this for my e-party at Swan Club. We were expecting 77 adults and 10 kids. I told them 70 adults and 10 kids. Thats what we paid for. The day of the party, only 4 people did not show up. So technically we had 73 adults, not 77. Swan Club never noticed/asked us for the $ for the extra 3 people

I told them the exact amount because we were actually scared of having MORE people show up because DH's family apparently has a habit of not rsvping and still showing up, or rsvping no and showing up anyway... At the end, no one extra showed up and about 10 people that said yes wound up not showing up...

I wouldn't. If you tell them less then who actually comes your tables are going to be mesed up. They aren't going to have enough place settings which they'll have to set up last sec.

idk if i can do this. our rh wants a list of all the guest and their table number........ but i have until 2 days before the wedding to add on or take people off the final head count.
