Where and how on the response card are people placing the numbers without looking tacky or having anything smudge?

I used an INVISIBLE INK SPY PEN that I bought off ebay so no one can see the number on the back of their RSVP card. I got the idea from someone on LIW.
i did the same thing with the invisible ink. i used it on the back of the cards. i wrote both the guests number and the number of people invited (since its invisible i figured that was ok). For example - guest #1 was a married couple - so on the back i wrote #1-2 ( which translates to guest #1 - 2 people invited). i ordered 3 pens and they were all dry when i got them. i just pour a bit of water into the back and they worked perfect. i bought the ones where the black light is attached and they worked perfect:
I wrote it on the back of the card in one of the corners. I would not suggest writing it on the response envelope you send. Even though we put stamps on ours and addressed them and everything..for some reason peoople sent them back in their own envelopes. But I would def number them...we had a few without names on them!

ok silly question... y are the numbers being put there and where are the numbers coming from exactly? Sorry and Thanx
Make a list of all your guests and assign them a number., Whatever numer you assign them write it on the response card. In case you back a card with no name you can trace it back to who you sent it to with the number
Thanks. What a good idea. I never thought of that.

Yes definitely do that - i got one back that was completely blank!!! but the little # i penciled in came in handy... so now i know who to call and its not a guessing game...

I used the invisible ink pens too. Works great since no one can see it but me if I need to.

You could write it really small in pencil on the inside of the response envelope so your guests don't see it.
or on the back othe card -- this is a very good idea.
I've gotten one back blank with an 'yes' but when I checked my list, I knew who it was.
