numbering rsvp?

numbering rsvp?

I read a few posts where some of you girls suggested numbering your response cards so you know whos who.. however....
in my tradition, in typical invitation cards, we usually write '3 people' or '2 people' inside invite on the corner bottom, to indicate to people that we dont need 6 members of that family attending.. if we leave it blank that means the whole family (bizarre I know) so when numbering response cards, what if guests get confused and think its the number of people you are inviting? how and where would you number it so guests dont think its the number like for example if you number '4' what if they think they can bring 4 people.. obv number '150' would be different... .sorry if it sounds confusing, I am just confused myself lolll

Several ladies have mentioned using an invisible ink pen to write on the back of the invites. I just used a pencil on the back of mine. You could also use letters (although you'll end up with aa bb etc after a while) if that'll be easier.

You write it in small print on the back. We did this for a friend for her shower responses. I found it to be very useful since sometimes you may not be able to read some responses with their poor handwriting. You reference the number and go to your spreadsheet where all names are numbered and can find out who the person is.

My response card folded so I wrote it REALLY small on the inside of the fold were no 1 would normally look. The printed portion of the card was the front so there was no need for my guests to unfold it.

I think people usually do it in small pencil on the back where nobody usually looks. I think I'll just write the names in invisible ink. Either way, its not in the main part of the RSVP card.

I wrote it in pencil, really small,in the corner, on the back of the rsvp. I have also heard of people writing a small number inside the rsvp envelope in case someone forgets to put the card in there all together!

I plan on numbering very lightly on the back also.

Do it on the back or order invisable pens!! There is a thread somewhere on here with the link to the website where you can get them.

MY RSVP cards are 4 panels and like 2 pages..so inside in pencil (reverse) I wrote numbers .

I typed and printed my addys on a label template and put corresponding numbers next to the names.

we did the invisible pen and so far it is working wonderfully!

we've already rec'd a few rsvp's with no names on them and for past couples who have gotten married they have called us telling us we forgot to number them ...jokes on them lol

My parents just received an invitation where their last name was written on the back of the RSVP. Maybe you could do it that way?
