Numbering tables vs. Naming tables

Numbering tables vs. Naming tables

I have been thinking about what to do in place of table numbers...and I was thinking of naming each table...(there will be about 16)...each a different place that FH and I have been to, are going to, got engaged, met, etc....what do you think? I know it has been done before, but I wanted opinions...is it silly and would table numbers be more appropriate, or do you like it? TIA

I'm doing both table names and table numbers...just so guests can find their seats quicker...i'm naming my table after wintery names so i'll be doing something like: 1. Blizzard, 2. Snowball, etc..I think your idea is great BTW!

i like it but would sort of suggest puting a number on there also.. only because numbers would go sequentially... if u find table 2.. and u'r 4.. u know u'r in range..where as names of places dont.. so it may be harder for guests to find their seats with names..

I wanted to do the same thing, but I'm leaning more towards just using the numbers supplied by the place. I might change my mind again, but I'm justing thinking of the time and the money it would cost to make the placecards and the table name cards.

i like this idea best. so people aren't walking around the hall trying to figure out where 'blizzard' is. my friend did this for her halloween wedding. each table was numbered a classic movie monster. so the place card had the traditional name on it--with the table number underneath---but to the left of your name has the pic corresponding to the image used for the table

then on the back of the table card---was a description of the movie monster film it came from!

You and me both sweetie---i stink at that stuff. i'm seeing her on sunday--i'll ask how she did it. maybe she has template or something.

i had a friend do mine--she does graphic design work--same concept--our monogram to the left---and people's names on the card with table number. she's VERY affordable---so FM me if you want her info!

I didn't vote because we're doing both. Each table has a # so it's easier for people to find but we are naming them and putting a picture of us at each place. HTH

We're using places at Yankee Stadium. But now that you guys mentioned it will be hard to find, maybe i'll put a # on it too.
