I know to some people this sounds like a no brainer but you would be surprised how many people do not number their response cards before they send them out.
I have gotten back sayings in Italian, neither my FH or I speak the language.
I have gotten back illegible writing, and people writing how excited they are to attend but forgot to put their names.
So ladies, number your reply cards, it will help.

Re: Numbering your RSVP's
yeah this was a good idea, but I didn't need it! Here's another tip, if you use the invisible ink you don't need a chart with corresponding names and numbers, JUST WRITE THE NAMES! I am so silly, I did all the work of numbering with a list and in the end was like why didn't I just write names if it is INVISIBLE INK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
This also helps when Mr. Johnson and his brother Mr. Johnson and his son Mr. Johnson all respond!

Re: Numbering your RSVP's
I didn't number mine --- BIG MISTAKE!
Someone responded 'we're coming'
Thanks a lot! These people think that we would magically know who they are!

This may sound stupid but if you put the invisible ink on them, how do you see it?

I think there's something you put on after so you can read it or you hold it up to a light

You usually use like a blacklight or special UV light. It comes w/the pen sometimes.

You actually went out and bought a blacklight?

No, well I didn't. I haven't even ordered my invites yet. But they sell this blacklight/pen combo in craft stores. It's not like huge light, it's almost the size of the pen itself so you just point it on wherever you wrote so you can see what was written.

Re: Numbering your RSVP's
I numbered them...teeny, tiny w/pencil in the corner of the backside. Luckily, I didn't need to play investigator, but I think it's a smart idea.

Re: Numbering your RSVP's
I was SOOOO Concerned about getting anonymous RSVPs that I both numbered the RSVP cards (in pencil on the back) And I edited the usual wording from this... M_________________________ accepts _____ regrets _____
To this: -------------------
We look forward to celebrating with you!
Name(s)__________________________
accept ___- decline ____
Please reply by October 26, 2007
So far i haven't received ANY without names, so i think that has helped!!! HTH!!

This is what we did. Most people don't look on the back so get a nice sharp pencil and write it small. No need for the extra expense of Invisible ink and black light.

Do you think people might be insulted if they are # 150 rather than #10?

we put the #'s where the stamp goes.. in pencil.. you can easily rip the stamp off and read the # .. u can even use a pen if you want!!
