We have beautiful hardwood floors. And I want to get a large light colored area rug for the nursery. My husband likes the idea of wall to wall. We picked out a nice one that I loved, (wall to wall) and now I hate the idea...Our whole house is wood floor - this would be the only room.
Does anybody have any pics or suggestions?

I am dying to put in hardwood floors and just use an area rug in the baby's room. My friends did that and the room is beautiful! They had a near wall to wall area rug with just about 3' of hardwood floor showing all around. And they didn't ruin their floors with a carpet installation this way.

I had hardwood floors in my bedroom when I was living at home (with mom and dad), and I always hated it. I remember being a little girl and getting up to use the bathroom and stepping off the area rug onto the COLD floor in the winter... Not one of my favorite childhood memories.
We just put hardwood in my LR and DR and I LOVE it, but all bedrooms in my house will be carpeted. We are picking out the nursey carpet this weekend.

we had hardwood floors in our bedroom. It is all through the house, but i dont like it in the bedroom, so we put carpet in there.

You're making me feel guilty!! Sean has hardwood floors and I don't even have an area rug for him yet! It's on my 'October-list-of-things-to-do'.
I hope my Peanut Butter's tootsies don't get too cold!!
ETA: Jenny - did you decide on your little girl's bedding ensemble yet? Did I miss it?

Don't worry Kathi. I think boys have tougher tootsies! My brother never complained about the floor.

yes, dont feel bad. ILOVE the look of an area rug over the wood floors, Im just a baby when it comes to waking up in the morning to a cold floor
