Nuva Ring?

Nuva Ring?

So I went to the gyno last night and complained that I really didn't like Loestrin and she recommended Nuva Ring?

Anyone have any experiences good/bad with it??

I won't start taking it until next week.

Re: Nuva Ring?

I LOVEEEEEE IT!!! I've been taking it for about a year now.

I used to have CRAZY heavy periods (like not be able to leave the house bad) and killer cramps that would make me actually throw up. Normal BC pills make me a little sick and I always would forget to take them anyway...

Now they are no where near as bad, I can function like a normal human being and I don't have to remember to do anything!! Instead of lasting a full 7 days like it used to it lasts maaaaaybe 4-5 at most.

And if you need to shift your cycle for any reason it's really easy.

Once in a blue moon (really very rarely) it shifts but you just have to adjust it and it's fine.

And you can leave it in during... well you know

HTH!!!

I have a co-worker who LOVES it. I'm thinking of switching too. Since I started Loestrin in Dec, I have yet to get a period. And no, I am not pregnant.

On Loestrin I have not had a period in about 2 years!! I actually love it but I can see that being alarming.

My co-worker is on the ring and looooooooves it.

My friend used it and loved it, but it would fall out a lot during sex and her roommate would often find it on the floor (gross)

i've been on it for years. its great. i found having to take 'another pill' everyday annoying.

you just slip it... take it out 3 weeks later.

its easypeasy.

do it!

ETA: i've only had it come out during sex maybe once or twice.

you CAN take it out during sex. you can have it out for up to 3 hours. and sorry FH... but ... you're not lasting 3 hours. so we're safe.

LOL! Thanks everyone! Rach - where the HECK was your friend doing it???

Question for girls on it: did you feel more/less hormonal (i.e. eating everything in sight, crying at Oprah episodes)??

Re: Nuva Ring?

The same really. Maybe a little more hormonal but I'm a big movie/tv show cryer anyway.

Re: Nuva Ring?

i get super emotional right before i get my period now. but i dont think its the ring ... cuz like i said i've been using it for like 3 years now.

i think its more because i'm planning a wedding and i'm always having baby-fever and just... at that time in my life.

and no, it doesn't make me eat everything in sight. i lost 50 lbs last year while on it.

(dieting.. obvs not anything to do with the ring.)

I was going to say... geeeeeez nuvaring didn't help me lose 50lbs!!!

Although I am still able to lose weight pretty easily on it (when I make the effort to put down the chocolate and cheeseburgers)

I was on it for about a year and half and loved it! I like not having to remember to take a pill everyday.

I tried the Nuva Ring in 2008, and LOVED not having to take pills everyday! But it made me REALLY nauseous and my boobs hurt SO bad! And FH could feel it when....you know..

So, I switched back to my regular pills.
