NWR: 30th Birthday Gift Ideas for a Guy!

Hey Ladies,
One of my closest guy friends is turning 30 this weekend, so I'm looking for some ideas for what to get him as a gift!!!

is it a girl? There's sooo many nice perfumes like the new Coach scent. What about a nice purse, summer outfit, Spa Gift Certificate, tickets for a Broadway Show, etc.

well depending on how he dresses, maybe a nice button down shirt with a tie, or maybe a track jacket. Or a nice shirt and cologne.

Contrary to what some have said, we guys are not so difficult to shop for. I suggest the following:

Poker stuff: is he into poker? Does he have his own 'set up' (nice poker chips, nice decks of cards, a table top, etc)? If a guy is really into poker, this will always work. And for 100 bucks, you could get something really nice.

Tickets: My guess is there aren't too many guys out there that tickets of some kind would work for. Sports tickets are obvious, but concert tickets could work or tickets to a play as well. Hockey Playoffs are coming, baseball season is approaching, Avenue Q has raunchy puppets, and so forth.

Additional Sports stuff: If a guy is really into sports, he'll love a jersey. You may want to check to see if he's already got one. Depending on the kind of Jersey it may run from 50-60 bucks to a little over 100 bucks. Other sports stuff, like a quality sweatshirt of his favorite team is good too.

Generally, sports, poker or music. i think one of those three should be something that works for him.

jk, actually she knows my tastes fairly well.

seriously, though, the poker thing always seems obvious to me. I've been playing poker for a while, and started playing it in earnest before Rounders and all the ESPN coverage. Now, half the planet plays poker and watches the ten zillion poker shows on tv. Having a nice set of chips and cards to play with is always fun.

I feel like sports, poker, concerts, plays, musicals is a pretty wide net to cast. There's got to be something within those five areas for most guys.

music, sports, and booze....

depending upon the music he likes.... a concert, jazz festival (those are always in late spring in NYC).... and sports/booze, well, whatever his preference!

You could give him Visa or American Express gift card, that way he can buy whatever he wants or needs. That's what I always do.....
