Well, after a long time of getting away with not being summoned for jury duty, i went today because i just could not postpone it again...well, i hear all these stories about people getting excused for like the next 7 years and blah blah blah...welll NOT ME!!! I was chosen within an hour to serve on a jury beginning tomorrow and I will more than likely be out of work all week...i am a teacher so that is difficult...I am however kinda intrigued and trying to make the most of it...anyway, wondering if any of you ladies have served and what it will be like???? TIA

Thank god im a student... I got called once and i got a note from school saying SORRY i'm a FT student... otherwise, if they made me go there, whatever crime the guy committed, i'd act like it happended to me or a fam member and start flippin out.... sure fire way of gettin out of it... either that or the usual acting racist !

Debi had to go to Phila. for jury selection before Christmas. However, she was not chosen, because it was a drug case, and her job involves drug education. Mary MOB

Aww where do you have to serve? I had to serve in Riverhead and lucilly my case only lasted like a day and a half! It ***** I know how you feel everyone I know gets out of it and they picked me! Hopefully you get an interesting case!

I served last year....was there for a week....it was interesting...good experience... but it can also get sort of boring. I think it depends on the case.

see you always hear this works, but there was no way that that could hae been okay to do....i wonder how people get the nerve to do this

Riverhead wasn't too bad. I had a car accident case. The judge was falling asleep though so that was a little bit annoying. Hopefully you get an interesting case!
