Re: NWR: 6th Grade Math Teachers
Congratulations!!! I have been teaching 6th grade math for over 10 years...did they give you the state standards and indicators for March-June? There is algebra (solving two-step equations, changing two-step verbal sentences into two-step algebraic equations); Venn diagrams (showing common factors of two or three numbers or results of surveys); probablility (making tree diagrams; calculating the prob. of compound events, etc); and graphing points in all four quadrants; and using proportions in context (word problems). One thing I would do is find out what has already been taught and what is on the final exam (if the students take one)! If you need anything FM me with your school address and I will send you worksheets, and lessons, ideas, etc if you'd like!
