NWR: 80s Party

I am going to an 80s themed party tomorrow night and I have nothing to wear. Does anyone have ideas on how I can look 80s without going out and spending a ton of money? I would love to wear a full out 80s prom dress but I don't want to buy one. Any other ideas?

i went to this 2 years ago for my sisters bparty.
a lot of girls dressed up straight out of the 80's with leg warmers, teased hair and crazy teased up hair.
but an equal number of girls just wore regualr dressy clothes since they were going somewhere else afterwards. i didn't wear anything 80-ish but

try like those slap on bracelets if you can find them, large chunky headbands or scrunchies - tights are big now, pair them with some leg warmers or wear tights and a skirt over it....
tease up your hair a little bit...

Thanks! I would love to just dress normal, but our friends hosting this party take their theme parties very seriously and everyone always goes all out with their costumes.

I love the suggestion of the slap bracelets and scrunchie! Those will be cheap to buy.

I have an 80's prom dress with ruddy sleeves and a white tux with pink cumberbun and bowtie to match. FH and I would prom king and queen for halloween! Let me know if you are interested.

haha we're having an 80s prom party at my job next week and I need to go shopping at lunch! I was planning on going to forever21 and buying a lacy skirt. Pair that with some bright tights and leg warmer, and a tank with a bunch of bangles and tada!!

madonna is my inspiration and I already own bright tights and leg warmers. I went to claires to buy jewelry when I went to the 80s prom in the city and they had a ton of neon colored stuff!

yes! Neon and borrow someone's krimper (if anyone still has one!!!!!!) How fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

check out thrift shops and good will. They always have funky 80's outfits!


and for jewelry try clairs or even partry city. We were going to do the awesome 8s prom for my bach party, and we found tons of 80's themed accessories
