NWR - A little sad...

Basically I had this really good friend who kinda 'broke up' with me a few years ago LOL. She said that I wasnt being a good friend to her since I had cancelled on a few things for whatever reason. I had good reason at the time and I was really hurt by what she did. She said she didnt want to be friends anymore so we stopped talking. For some reason, I still miss her as a friend and I have been thinking about her since I'm getting married soon. I think she would have been one of my bridesmaids so it's a little hard. It's probably a good thing because it's hard enough with 6 girls lol but still. Anyway- she friend requested me on Facebook the other day so I wrote her a message just asking how she was. She actually wrote back and congratulated me on getting engaged, telling me about her and asking about me. I guess I didnt even expect her to write back and although it makes me happy to hear from her, I guess I'm a little sad too because I know I will email her back and that will probably be it. Anyway i'm just a little sad and I've been really emotional lately with the wedding so soon. Anyway- thanks for listening!!

i understand ... i have a few friends like that who have either moved away or i have just grown apart from ... and around this time you really start to think about them ... don't worry tho just know that you day will be beautiful and everyone that is meant to be there to celebrate with you will be there!

Thank you for sharing this! It sounds like it was probably hard for you to write, since it brings up a lot of emotions and it's something you've thought about over the past few years from time to time.

You are a beautiful person who never deserves to be treated like any less from anyone, especially 'friends.' I'm glad to hear that your friend has matured a bit since she made that rash and short-sighted decision to cut you out of her life.

If it works out that you two become acquaintances or even friendly again, so be it. If not, you've also moved on and it's ok as well.

Enjoy your big day (SO SOON!!!) and keep up your wonderful and cheery spirit!

Re: NWR - A little sad...

I've been drifting apart from my college music friends a LOT lately. . .one of whom is apparently coming down to NYC this weekend but mysteriously RSVPed 'no' to my wedding. It was really upsetting me (yes, I agree with the emotional thing!!!) but then I realized, 'would it REALLY make or break my day if she was there?' Once I realized that it was a NO, I let it go. This was a girl who definitely would have been in my bridal party had we stayed in better touch.

Friends come and go, and the ones who matter most are the ones that are going to be there for you on your special day. Celebrate that!!!
