nwr: allergies, PLEASE HELP!

nwr: allergies, PLEASE HELP!

Ok ladies, I need some help. Does anybody here have really nasty allergies?

There is something in the air in my bedroom that is making it hard for me to breathe. The only thing I've ever tested allergic for is dust, although the last time I felt like this I found a trashbag in here that had grown mold in it, and I felt better pretty soon after disposing of it (I SWEAR I'm not that big of a pig, I was cleaning and didn't fill the bag so left it lying around for a few days when I started smelling something nasty, looked in it, and threw it out.)

My dad even came in here before and was here for about 5 seconds before he started sneezing and asked me what was in the air in my room that was making him sneeze.

I looked around and couldn't find any mold. I keep my pet rabbits in my room, and their hay, but that has never bothered me before, so it wouldn't make sense that all of the sudden it would be bothering me. I also have two turtles in a tank in here, but I can't imagine what they could have that would make me allergic... (and I've had them for 3 1/2 years with no problems). and the cats wander in and out of here... and we have a dog, but he doesn't come in here. But again, I've never had a problem with them before now.

So, this is a problem. I have enough breathing problems without adding an allergenic room to the list. I need advice on how to de-allergize my room. I mean, I can try and do a top-to-bottom scrub down, but with all this clutter that could take DAYS.

thanks ladies, I'm desperate.

check the rabbits hay...maybe it might be moldy and you just didn't see it?

yeah, I checked there. Smells like nice sweet hay, no visible mold, no real dust.

I've had hay mold before, and it can make them really sick to eat moldy hay, so that was definitely one of the first places I checked.

Thanks though!

The only thing you can do is clean your room from top to bottom and maybe you will come across something. Allergies can come on all of the sudden, sometimes they build up in your body and then your body cant take it anymore! Good luck!

Allergies can come aon allof a sudden, so its not impossible that now you are allergic, clean your room from top to bottom and try an air purifier.

I would try vaccuuming your entire room, there may be bunches of dust that you may not be able to see

Ugh... I had a HUGE mold problem that was totally undetected for God only knows how long. I suffered from SEVERE, MAJOR, CHRONIC headaches, bronchitis like you would not believe. We couldn't figure out what was wrong until this past Memorial Day weekend when something possessed us to look in the back of our closet.

We had this small yet deep closet that we never went into the back part of. The clothes that were in the back were party dresses or suits that were rarely touched. Apparently there was a leak in the peak of the front of the house that just got out of control...ugh...we lived with crap in our bedroom...breathing it in and didn't even know it.

Thankfully our landlord took immediate action, but our apt had to be turned upside down. Soon after we moved though...too many other problems.

Anyway...the mold can be in the walls or under the carpets...or in the vents...

Good luck

also try getting a filter. ionic breeze works really well.

so I guess a top to bottom clean is going to be required, huh? oy. guess it's a good thing I'm on vacation!

also, I've been thinking about getting an air purifier, but they're so expensive. Does anybody know where I can get one for a reasonable price?

Sign yourself up on their mailing list. AND KEEP ALL coupons...EVEN AFTER THEY EXPIRE! This is what we did with the items remaining on our registry...forget that measly 10% they give you...we used those coupons like crazy...some were a year old!
