NWR- Already Married girls - job references & maiden name?

Since my last name has changed from when I worked at a few of my past jobs, I was wondering how you have dealt with providing references at interviews. Do you indicate your maiden name on the sheet next to some of your past employers? If they asked about Leah D I don't think they would know who I am! And I'm worried that if I just call my past jobs, they may not remember this forever..I would want whoever is calling to just ask about Leah R

This may be a really stupid question, but I'm not sure what to do!

My resume has my married name on it, but if I get called in for an interview, I am informing them through phone call that my name has recently changed, and if they check my references, please be sure to ask both names. I haven't had any problems yet as I have a job interview next month.

It wasn't an issue...I was put through the ringer for this job and they didn't check references...really checking references only lets them know you DID in fact work there. They can't ask or be told WHY you left or if you were fired. So in reality it doesn't matter. If you think it might come up, simply tell them you were recently married...but down the line, I wouldnt bother.

thank you! What I just did, b/c I have to leave soon, is put an asterisk next to the one reference that wouldn't know, and a note underneath saying 'Please note my name has recently changed from X'. In the past, I've always had to hand in references at an interview so I want it to be all ready and right there.
