He should stick up for you. But you sometimes you have to pick your battles. I adore my grandparents but I know from own experience my grandmother tends to gossip and start trouble within the family and not even realize that she adding fuel to the fire. Should I be mad at her and hold a grudge it's not worth with it comes with their age the certain rude or inconsiderate behavior they may have. His grandfather will not change. HTH

It does help, I'm just more concerned that he's gonna start trouble at my wedding since he disapproves so much. FH tells me not to stress out about it but his unwillingness to talk about it and just brushing off my concerns only amps up my anxiety.

I know how you feel. Hopefully his grandfather will put his feeling aside and understand that his grandson is happy. Possibly FH parents can speak to him beforehand. Maybe they can give him a happy pill just kidding!!! You FH probably is use to his behavior and knows that his Grandfather means no harm. Don't let get to you!!!

Did you tell FH how it makes you feel? I would approach it as - not that it would ruin the wedding day (which it may put a damper) - i would come across that it hurts your feelings that your FH doesnt stick up for you.. worst case scenerio.. if he does act a fool at the wedding - I would just have a back up plan as to who can escort him out.. we already have a plan worked out between us of a few people who we think may cause drama, and I already have my go to person that will politely throw them out...

I dont think you are over reacting, I think he should totally stick up for you! I would be the same way. on the wedding if he said or did anything to disrepect me, my dad would have serious words for him! he is so protective!

I wish FH would be a little MORE protective.
