NWR - Am i over re-acting

ok i will try & make a long story short. My MOH who is my sister has NOT been helpful at all with helping me plan my wedding. Not one phone call to see if i need help. I had to drag her to get her dress. i think you get the picture. so now with about 4 months to my wedding. she sends me an email asking me to help with my nephew's school project !! does she think i have nothing to do? i work full time. I have enough on my plate with the holidays & the wedding. when does she think i have the time. I feel bad because it is for my nephoew but she has always been like this. she never goes out of her way anybody even her own family. i only hear from her when she needs something.

what should i do? ignore? i am so tempted to reply to her ' when do you expect me to help you with this. I do have a wedding i am planning all by MYSELF'

i am so pissed right now

off to gym to cool off..

thanks !

I just wanted to say you are getting married on my mom's birthday! Anyway I don't what know what you should say to your sister. That is a sucky situation. It annoys me when people just come to you when they need help like that. I hope it works out!

I think you should go and help your nephew...don't take out your sister's self-centeredness out on him...but while you're there, find a way to bring up the fact that you would like her to be more involved in your wedding, especially being that she IS the MOH! Bring it up more than once...she'll listen because she'll feel stupid and ungrateful if she aregues with what you're saying...HTH!

hoenstly none of my BMs have asked if i needed help and at this point i dont really expect them to. I need them for dreses and fittings and thats it. what really are they going to do to help you? maybe they dont think you really need help...

I would help your nephew because whatever the relationship b/w the 2 of you are, he is your nephew and you want to have a relationship with him!

maybe i phrased it wrong. its more of expressing interest. she never asks me what's going on or how did my invitations come out etc.. i just know i was a MOH 2x & was there for the bride almost every step of the way.

your right my relationship with my nephew shouldn't suffer because of her.

I COMPLETELY AGREE!!! It's your nephew and he shouldn't pay for your sister's stupidity. Truthfully, none of my 11 bridesmaids have really helped me out with my wedding either--2 of which are my sisters. I know they care it's just that they are crazy busy too.

i have hinted more than enough. she just wants things on her terms. she doesn't like doing things during the week at night. she works saturdays. sundays is her only day to catch up. so basically in order for her to help me with anything i would have to take off of work to accomodate her. thats what i had to do to go shopping for her dress. she has no interest at all in helping. sad that this is my own sister. when i was her MOH we went shopping all over brooklyn.

Yea thats just not right.... I dont think you are over reacting... I would feel bad because its not the kid's fault but she is his mother and she should be helping him!
I think you should speak up and tell her exactly what you just said here.... She SHOULD understand!
