left work early today cos i had a bad ear ache. hope i'm not coming down with anything. my throat is a little achy. i know how to treat that. but i haven't had an ear ache in years.
help !

Any chance you have water stuck in it? That happens to me sometimes and then I just lay on the side that's hurting and if there is water, then it should go away. Sorry to hear your not feeling well. The other thing would be ear drops but I'm not sure if those come over the counter or not.

soak a cotton ball in some olive oil, heat up in the microwave until its warm (NOT SCORCHING HOT) and put it inside you ear canal. Hope that helps!

lay on the other ear. Place a pile of salt in the middle of a damp, warm washcloth. 'Bundle' up the washcloth (know what I mean) Place it on the bad ear.
The salt is supposed to draw something out of the ear and the damp, warm loosens whatever it is.
My kid's step-mom uses this on her daughter all of the time.

no, i was fine this morning. just started after lunch. i am thinking because of the cold weather. i was waiting for my bus for a bit..

My mom, who grew up in rural Greece after WW II, has always put a few drops of warm olive oil in the oil that hurts. Then she made us cover that ear with a handkerchief and we sat there for a while.
Warm chamomile is an alternative to the warm oil. Note: it should feel just barely warm on your skin...it shouldn't feel hot!
