Re: nwr: Anyone been to Boston?
I've been there once on a roadtrip with my gf's and we had the most amazing time. We visited Cheers the bar from the sitcom, then there was a really nice shopping center with lots of restaurants and bars right on the water...it was called Feiulle (something or other) square. Then we went to the historic part of town where I think it was Paul Revere rode through the streets and yelled the 'British are coming'. lol... I know my memory isn't too sharp from the trip, but it was fun!!!!!!

Re: nwr: Anyone been to Boston?
Spent 4 years there in College
Must-see places:
Fanueil Hall / Quincy Market - there are some great little restaurants and shopping
Newbury Street - GREAT shopping!
Definitely go to the original CHEERS (aka the Bull & Finch Pub) on Beacon Ave
Also downtown Boston is great - the Prudential Center and Copley Square
Finally, you MUST go down by the harbor! There are some fantastic seafood restaurants down there!
Have fun!
ETA: for good Italian food, go to the North End.....and then go to Mike's Pastries for one of the best cannoli's ever

LOVED it there!
we've been to Boston a bunch of times... Quincy Market and the Aquarium are 2 MUST DO's.
but my FAVORITE thing is D i c k s restaurant.. here's a link place is GREAT! our waitress actually quit the night we went there... but we had a blast!
honestly, just drive or walk around.. you can spend hours in quincy market and the aquarium... its such a great place. FH's never been there, but we're thinking of going this summer.
eta- my friend went here YEARS ago.. not sure if its still around.. but she said it was hysterical! Condom World Inc www.condomworldboston.com 332 Newbury Street Boston, MA 02115-2703 (617) 267-7233
the link takes you to a online store... I dont think its the same thing, she said the store sold a bunch of novelty items and wasn't your every day adult shop.

Re: nwr: Anyone been to Boston?
I live in Boston! Have been for the last 3 years...
-Do the Duck Tour to see the whole city (lasts about 2 hours) -Definitely stroll through Quincy Market (inside and out) and have lunch there -- it's a huuuge food court type setup with all kinds of food -Since you're staying near the harbor, I also recommend the North End for dinner, and then Modern Bakery after for cappuccino or a pastry -Newbury Street is great for shopping, people watching, etc. - The South End also has some of the best restaurants in the city
When are you coming?
FM me if you want any more info!

Re: nwr: Anyone been to Boston?
i don't know if you or FH are baseball fans, but I would go to Fenway park.
I went to a really good mexican restaurant on Newberry Street a few years back, but I'm not sure if it's still there.

Re: nwr: Anyone been to Boston?
I've lived there for 4 years in college and agree with the others. Just an addition: Boston closes down surprisingly early (in terms of stores - bars are opened later). A great night thing to do is to roam around Harvard Square. Most stores are opened late there, and there's a fun street vibe going on. I LOVE the Curious George store there!

Fanuel Hall/Quincy Market is great. Good shopping, restaurants and people watching.
I love Newbury Street and Boylston Street, as well. I would go for happy hour and bar hop/eat. Cactus Club is great. I always loved The Pour House, too. Oh...and Sonsie if it's nice out. You can sit and people watch. So many good food options
Harvard Square is also nice.
There is so much to do. The good thing...it's easy to get around on The T. And it's not a huge city.
Now you have me wanting to go for the weekend!!! I went to college there

I second Mike's Pastries!! Cannoli's are to die for and they serve cappucinos with rock candy as a sweetener!!! Yum, I want some now!!!
Also if you or FH like beer, the Sam Adams brewery is fun.. You can do a tour then sample different beers. It's a little far away from city center.. But, there's another called Harpoon brewery that's closer and pretty fun too..
No matter what you do you will have a ball! Enjoy!!!!
