NWR - Anyone ever experience

a burning sensation like inside your esophogas? (too early to check the spelling of this, sorry)

For the second day in a row I get up at the buttt hiney crack of dawn, take my blood pressure pill and baby asprin. Go back to bed. Within seconds I feel this burning sensation inside. Yesterday I tried flushing it with water, didn't work. Took some Tums, tried to go back to sleep, didn't work. Today I took my pills, same reaction. This time I tried some whole wheat toast with this no calorie, no taste pb spread and sugar free black cherry jelly. Still burning. Trying to get a cup of coffee down but it still hurts. Now I feel all flushed. Not sure if something could be really wrong or if I'm just working myself up over nothing. I do take my pills with a full Solo cup of water.

What do you think?
TIA

Maybe its a form of acid reflux. I would go to the dr to check it out. I get really bad acid reflux , nothing helped and the dr gave me Aciphex. It works wonders.

Feel better hun

I had this happen to me when I was younger. I swallowed a pill with a small amount of water and I actually did something to my esophagus(sp?) I went to the doctor and they just gave me a prescription, I remember it being very painful. Feel better!

yes it sounds like acid reflux - you should call your doctor - it could be from taking the pills on an empty stomach

Coffee will make this worse as it is an acid. Take a Zantac and wash it down with a large glass of milk, see if that helps.

I have terrible acid reflux and 95% of the time that does the trick for me!

it could be acid reflux like the other girls said. however acid reflux is not only having too much acid in the stomach but it could be because you don't have enough acid in your stomach. you should definitely speak to your doctor about it.

for years i used to have horrible acid reflux pains & no medication ever worked. one night after dinner i was dipping a lemon wedge into sugar (delicious) & the pain went away instantly.

also check your prescription bottle & see how it recommends taking your medicine. with food, without food, before a meal, after a meal, with a glass of water, with a glass of milk. all of those things make a big difference.

def call the dr. but in the meantime pepcid (not the chewable one tho) should work right away or start a prilosec treatment (which may take longer but will help more in the long run).

Sounds like acid reflux or heartburn. I get heartburn really badly sometimes and it's the worst feeling. So sorry you're experiencing this, but don't worry it is manageable. Definitely ask your doc about treatments.

Make sure the aspirin is coated....that could cause the burning

I used to have that with pills I took. I drank it down with a whole glass of milk. And take a deep breath in and out before you take them too

First Call your DR.
Second, how long have you been on these pills?
You could have an allergy...
I'd get on the phone with the dr ASAP, just make sure its nothing to worry about.
