NWR: Anyone have a Hyundai Sonata?

NWR: Anyone have a Hyundai Sonata?

What do you think of it?

Thinking of trading in my Santa Fe to get better gas mileage with the Sonata.

What does it cost to fill your Sonata? Do you know how many miles per gallon you get out of it?

How does it drive?

Thanks!

Sarah

Re: NWR: Anyone have a Hyundai Sonata?

I did have one and it got around 30mpg (I think). I put 70K miles on it in about 3 years and had no major problems. The only problem I had was with the brakes and it was something that should have been covered by warrantee, but they refused to acknoledge there was a problem. The guy at the service center at Riverhead Hyundai had me in tears on the phone and told me I wasn't taking care of my car (because I didn't get it serviced there) and in addition to the $400+ for a brake job (which was just done and due to the underlying problem the brakes wore out in a matter of months) I would need a new belt. When I broought the car to my local car repair guy who I have know for years, he told me I had at least another 30k on the belt I had. Sorry about the vent, but I vowed never to go to the Hyundai dealer again. I loved the car, did not love the service.

wow... thanks. I actually really like Atlantic Hyundai. I have a Santa Fe now (as I mentioned) and because I like the guys at Atlantic so much, that's one of the reasons I want to stick with a Hyundai, rather than switch to another car.

I'm sorry you went through that with your car. NOTHING could be worse than what I went through with my old Chrysler Sebring Convertible with the Westbury Jeep dealers, though... that was the WORST! I had a loaner car more than my real car! And one time, they had my car for a MONTH and I called to check on my car, and they told me that they didn't have my car! I told them I had their loaner car! They flipped out! Then they threatened to call the cops if I didn't bring it back!!!!! I'm like, YOU HAVE MY CAR... I CALLED YOU!!!! It was insane. NEVER again.

Hey Sarah!!

I still have my 99 accent and get 320 to the tank (12 gla tank) and it has 121+ . My aunt has the new Sonata and they love it. Hun, you can't beet these cars. Also, if you want someone good, FM me and I will give you the name of a guy to deal with at Atlantic. We have 4 Hyundai's in my family.
Maybe we could be on a commercial

My mom still regrets getting rid of her '89 hyundai excel all these years later. it got great gas mileage and never broke down. she only got rid of it because it had 150k miles on it and the a/c was going to cost $800 to fix, but the car was only worth $500.

hyundais are dissed for their economy ranking, but they are great cars. remember, honda started the same way.

thanks, but I actually LOVE my salesperson that I had who sold me my Santa Fe. She got me a GREAT deal, along with the manager at Atlantic Automall. Just GREAT people. Assuming I don't go with the Civic Hybrid, I should have a new Sonata by the end of the week! I don't NEED a new car, this is purely to cut down on gas costs. I can't STAND going to the gas pump anymore. I want to throw up every time!
