I did it, because I was very ready to do it! It was a firm mental commitment.
Also, with the help of 'commit'. Its pretty helpful because you consantly have something in your mouth. And, everytime I get a craving, I just think how discussing it really is and than I don't want it anymore.

That is important.

I did on March 30th. I was helped along by a severe throat infection. By the time I started to feel better I realized I hadn't had a cigarette in over a week. I decided to just go with it.

It hasn't been easy once I felt 100% but it does get easier. I think about it a lot, especially when sitting in traffic to/from work. And FH smokes too.

I just take it one day at a time.

Best of luck. If you want to do it, we are here for you.

I quit on Monday, May 2 (it's only been 4 days!!) 4 LONG DAYS!! LOL

I am using Zyban, which basically takes away the physical withdrawal symptoms. I'm still battling the mental cravings! But it's getting easier every day.

I had my last ciggy on 12/27/04. I was planning on quitting for the new year and it just sort of happened then, so I went with it.

It's been 5 months now and I can't imagine ever smoking again. It takes will power. I remember always hating the way I smelled and whenever I crave for one, I just think about that yucky smell. It also helps too that FH doesn't smoke. If he did, I'd have a really hard time.

JUST TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME !!

Good Luck !

I never did but my FI has been smoking for a looong time. I think it's killing me and his daughter more than it is him. At one point he had quit for 3 months but then his mom died of lung cancer and he started up again to cope with the loss. He made it his new year's resolution but that didn't last. I know he has to want to do it on his own, I just don't know how I can help get him to that point before it's too late. It really scares me bc he went to the doctor's a few months ago and he's got some scarring on his lungs.

I did on November 12! I wasn't a heavy smoker, (3 a day) but it was very hard. Every time I wanted a cigarette, I brushed my teeth. (if I was in a situation where I COULD brush) I feel a million times better, but I still get cravings. --Mostly when I'm stressed --mostly sitting in traffic. My sister was on the patch-but couldn't quit. I think every person is different. Good luck to you!! It's tough!
