MY FH recently went for the interview portion of the fire department but they didn't tell him when he will get called for boot camp. Does anyone know how long from the interview. I am stressing because it could be very close the the wedding.

My FI took the test as well...hasent been called yet, but I was wondering also! I thinkt here is a calss going in May and another in September...if he was called already for the interview, maybe he will be the May class and finished by your wedding!

My FH is in the fire department.
They don't give you much notice about when they are going to call. I think they called him 3 weeks before his class.
Has he taken his physical yet?

No!! So far, he has taken the written, the physical test, and now the interview where he turned in like eighty pages of paper work.

I'm not but just wanted to say hi b/c I used to have a thing for firemen...still do - they're so heroic!!! My FH teases me all the time when we're walking in NYC and a fire truck goes by - I tend to stare at all the hot men on it!!!

My cousin is a fireman. It took awhile after the psychological to get called. When they called him, he started the academy in June and graduated in August. Fireman are the best!

If he's taken the physical test already, there's a good chance he will get called for one of the next two classes.

I know, the waiting stinks.
Unfortunately, it doesn't go away after the academy is done They can't tell you if they can definitely get off sometimes until well, the night before.

FH is a FDNY in east New York. His boot camp was three months. It was tough for all the guys there and himself. I don't remember how long he waited for the call, it was three years ago. I Love how he looks in his uniform

I'm happy to say I am marrying a FDNY fireman He got called for training at Randall's Island very shortly after the interview..

Does NYPD in East NY count??? that is a rough neighborhood. Sorry I don't know how long boot camp is..The police was 6months. Maybe it is shorter for Fireman. Good Luck!!!

6 months...I just asked FH and he said fireman's academy is shorter like his might be 4 months FH says 16 weeks

my fh is a cop and just went to the fd interview last week, the academy is approx 3 months and they didnt give him a definite time but they said june or september....im freakin, but what are you going to do tell them they cant go for their dream job because of inconvenient timing....we have no choice but to sit and wait...my wedding is right before yours...we dont know if we will be able to go on our honeymoon after the wedding...good luck w/ everything!
