NWR: Anyone on Loestrin 24 BC Pill?

My doctor gave me a perscription for it today & just curious if anyone had a good/bad experience with it.

(TMI but first time going on BC and I'm just a little nervous about the whole thing)

I took it for 2 months and hated it, but my friend is on it and thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread.

I was VERY moody and I mean, could not even stand to be around myself

Just wanted to add, since it's your first Pill I would see how it works for you. I went from a high estro to a low estro and my body was not reacting well to it.

I've been on it for like 4 months or so. I like it. For the most part, I don't have any bad side effects at all. I've been on several different pills and depo, the patch, the ring and HATED them all. Good luck!

For me it is so much better then Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. But everyone's bodies are different.

i stopped taking it bc i was either really sad or really happy, and u never knew when i would be which one lol also i reallllllly bothered my stomach and i couldn't eat. gained some water weight so my brief 'diet' didn't even make a difference... but seriously everyone has diff reactions, so try it and see... u can always stop it =) i did lol

I like it much better than Ortho Tricyclen. But everybody is different. If your body doesn't react well to it, then ask your doc for something else.

I'm on it and my period only lasts for a day now - if I get it at all. After I got over the fear of being pregnant I like it. My doctor said it's fine that I'm not getting my period so I'm okay with it.

I am on it now. I love it! I get my friend for 3 days and its suppose to be good to prevent cervical cancer. Everyone's experience on pills are different. HTH

hey ive been on it for two cycles so far, this was my first exper with the pill too. i like it overall. it makes me feel a bit better that its low dose, given the recent reports about newer bcps and high doses causes huge risk for blood clots. you can find a ton of info from other women about loestrin on healthboards.com- birth control section. so far, bad parts have been break through bleeding i get at the end of my second wk for like 7-10 days straight but my period is sooo much lighter and shorter that its barely there at all which is great. the water weight/bloating is horrible but most pills do that. one bad experience with an ocular migraine that freaked me out but i had a tendency towards them years ago so if you dont, it shouldnt be an issue. ppl will tell you a million different things good and bad but remember this..the first three months are crazy and mostly everything crazy going on is pretty 'normal'- some spotting, moodiness, bloating, etc. You have to give your body three full months (sometimes more) to acclimate before you'll know whether its right for you! I can't really complain. Ive heard ppl find something bad to say about EVERY brand pill. GL!

My best friend has been on it for awhile and loves it. It is pretty low from a hormone perspective so sometimes it my take your body 1-3 months to adjust. I recently started YAZ and really like it. Initially I had some problems the first month with breakthrough, but now its great. No more mood swings, short period, no weight gain and no nausea!!
