NWR: Anyone see Brokeback Mountain?

I saw it today with FH who was not happy about it.
I thought it was good though and very sad. Anyone else see it?

Nope never saw it. I'm surprised because my FI is a huge movie buff.

The one negative I have was that I felt that their relationship seemed pretty non-existent before the 'tent-shacking'
They must've had like 5 mins worth of dialog beforehand, and that seemed weird to me.

I kinda thought the same thing. Like um..ok..where the hell did that come from!?!?!? Like all the sudden they had this huge love/attraction meanwhile they barely spoke before that?! lol.
I do think though that Heath Ledger was great in it and I bet he'll win a Golden Globe or an Oscar.

I saw it and loved it. I had to see it alone because there was no way FI was going to see it. I think Heath Ledger did a really great job in it. Hard to believe that's the same guy from 10 Things I Hate About You.

I don't know if you had a chance to read the short story too but that's how it happens in the book also. The way Anne Proulx wrote it was to make it seem like, even though this lust/love/whatever you want to call it seemingly came out of nowhere, it made complete sense to Ennis and Jack.

No, but I want to SO BADLY.

DH wouldn't see it with me while we were in ny, and it's not playing anywhere near us in va.

grr.
