FH's doctor prescribed it to help him quit smoking. Just wanted to know how people are affected by it. Downloaded a report from the Mayo Clinic, but it reads more like a press release.

Great - a very big THANKS !
He quit for 4 weeks, and then something at work triggered him to start again. I want him and (me) to be healthy.

I'm a pharmacy intern, and from what I can see from our patients it seems to be very successful. I would recommend this over any other smoking cessation product! HTH!

Re: NWR - anyone try Chantix to stop smoking ?
I know someone who smoked for about 50 years, starting taking Chantix and has been a non-smoker now for months. She also has no desire to smoke anymore. She has tried other methods and says this is the best.

Re: NWR - anyone try Chantix to stop smoking ?
I go to another message board where we have a thread for all the people quitting.. AMAZING. There were some that joined in that quit a couple of months ago and have inspired the people to try it. So far... there are about 10 people that have quit... the newest is on week 2 and she feels great.!
Good luck!!

Re: NWR - anyone try Chantix to stop smoking ?
My mom is using Chantix and has cut back a lot, but still hasn't completely stopped. What I noticed was that the first day she took the pills she was like repulsed by the smell or even the sight of an ashtray or cigarette. I think if she had just quit at the same moment that she started the pills she would have been better off, but it's been 3 weeks and she's still smoking... But even if the pills only help smokers to cut back it is well worth it. Don't give up girls!
