Any suggestions out east? It will just be my husband and I. We usually go to Stakey's Farm but last year the pumpkins rotted quickly. I liked that they are on the vine and you picked your own. After this we will hit up 1 or 2 wineries (no suggestions needed as I love quite a few of them).

I heard great things about Lewin Farm in Wading River. Its reasonable and a real farm with pumpkins on the vine.

I went to Lewin Farms for apples 2 weeks ago, it was good but really crowded. There are so many place out there i usually stop at random ones. Harbes Farms is always good. It you go out to the Hamptons, Hanks Pumpkin Town is great, they have a huge corn maze too

Lewin is really good! But they do get crowded. If you don't mind crowds, it's worth the trip.

We actually went upstate to pick apples. To Warwick - they have a winery and distillery there too, so we were able to do a wine tasting. It was really nice. We had some awesome apples too. It $25 for a 25lb bag.

We prefer the smaller stands over Lewin's, partly because of crowds, and partly because we feel like we get nicer pumpkins! I have to admit though, I mostly go for the corn with corn seasoning.

I went to Lewin's for apples on Sunday and honestly they didn't have a lot left. I love Harbes farms for pumpkins. They have other stuff there, too, like food, drinks, etc. It's family oriented, but you adults do just fine there, too. We went all adults last year. And it's close to the wineries :)

We're actually going upstate this weekend for apple picking :)

For pumpkins last year FH took me to a farm in Bay Shore. I think it was Brightwaters Farms. The pumpkins lasted until December AND the two that we carved last until thanksgiving!
