NWR - Appliances UPDATE

NWR - Appliances UPDATE

Our washing machine just died! Who needs the added expense of a new washer/dryer when you're paying a mortgage and saving for a wedding - and we can only have a stacked washer/dryer so it's not like we can just buy the washer THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!
anyone have any hookups for appliances?????
thanks for the mini vent

UPDATE:
So the washer is fixed! My lovely FH took the sucker apart just before. And this is a lesson in taking things out of your pockets before doing was. He left a poop bag of sophie's in his pocket and it got stuck in the pump. he got it out and the machine works fine!
moral of the story - ALWAYS EMPTY YOUR POCKETS!!!!

From lindenhurst - an hour and a half.....

It's Raritan, NJ - but the good thing is they have a 'ding & dent' dept.....so if a box was dented when they got something - it goes down there for a much cheaper price!

can you get a quote to get it fixed? It might be worth repairing if it's not going to cost your much.

Oh MAN do i relate to you. We just had to drop $700 we didn't have on a dishwasher.

On the bright side - were you guys homeowners in 2005? If so, you're about to come into some extra money - they didn't give anyone in NY enough money back through the STAR program in 2005, so they're now giving additional rebates. We're getting back $542, and that's where most of the dishwasher money is coming from.

Fingers crossed that you guys were homeowners in 2005!! FM me if you want more info about this rebate.

FH is going to call the appliance people tomorrow to get a quote for a new motor. that's what died. if it's not too much we'll try to repair it. if not we're going to have to get a new one - the only thing is we're in a levit house and anyone from levittown will know what i mean, it has to go under the stairs and it can't even be a normal size it's got to be smaller so it's difficult

i know what you're talking about. Get me the size it can be - Dave can at least give you a referral to a good machine & price so that you know if you are being ripped off....

Yeah - we charged ours and we're going to pay it off when we get our check. At least it's an option, even though it's not ideal!

You're in Lindy? Go to Sears outlet in the Kmart strip (across from South Bay) I got my $2400 fridge for $800 (it had a scratch that is easily covered by a magnet) and my washer for like $300. With warranties. If that is too pricey we got a refurbished dryer from some appliance repairman in East Islip on Carleton Ave for like $150.
