NWR Apt complex advice needed *kinda long vent*
FH and I live in an apartment complex which is owned by a management company. I really think management is soooo cheap; they don't want to pay the money so I think they figure if they wait long enough we'll just go and get things fixed ourselves
For over a year we've had problems with our stove. We get an error message and it just starts beeping for no reason. And it can happen at anytime day or night. Sometimes it happens several times a day, sometimes a month will pass and it won't happen then it just suddenly starts again. Sometimes we only find out when we get home because the message is flashing.
We've already had it 'fixed' 3 times. Each time they say it has something to do with the timer. Plus each time we have to wait on mgmt and the same thing seems to happen.
They constantly change the companies that do the work at the complex (read $$$). After mgmt dodging our calls, we finally were finally able to get an appointment and the new company came a few weeks ago and said we needed for the part to come in they would call us. FINE we're ok with that
Two weeks past and no one bothered to call us they suddenly just showed up at the door last Tuesday. After he's already showed up THEN management calls and were like ok the guys is in the neighborhood and can fix it today. Call us back.
It was during the day so I was at work. Since FH works nights and wasn't expecting them he was out cold and didn't hear the doorbell or phone absolutely nothing wakes him up.
FH wakes up and calls both the repair company AND management around 4 and the woman was not there, she'll call back. We've called back 5 times and every time they say, we'll call you back
It p!sses me off, they increase our rent, tell us things will be better and then just 'forget' you.
I'm afraid to make threats because then I probably won't get my deposit back and i'm paranoid that they could even kick us out or something. We still have 10 months left on our lease. As it is, we have to give notice right after the wedding that we are leaving which is going to be hard. I kinda wish we hadn't renewed there at all. We've had soooo many problems with the apartment, neighbors being loud (walls are too thin and I can hear EVERYTHING).
