When i was younger, my father bought me two ferrets (my mom wasn't fond of them. they liked to nibble at her feet and attack her slipper in the morning). I fell in love with them but they both passed and it was very hard. I grew very attached to them. So when FH and i moved in together i was ready to get another one. My Best friend's Girlfriend at the time had a baby ferret about 6 months old named Vikki. She black and white and the sweetest little girl but soon after i got her FH deiced that he doesn't like them b/c she smells (they don;t you just have to give them a bath with ferret shampoo weekly, very easy). She's about 1 1/2 now. Doesn't bite and gets along very well with cats and dogs.
So I'm Moving back into my parents house (their moving out, where renting it) in November and FH & my mom want me to find a new home for her. I told them i would try but if i couldn't i wasn't giving her to a shelter, she would be staying.
SO... here's the question... Any want a ferret , cage and all supply's i have.

Awww man I wish I could take her! I love ferrets, my mom had them. But DH would MURDER me and my two giant dogs would probably think she's dinner. Good luck finding her a home!

It's funny i thought my cat would think she's a play toy and my dog would think she's a chew toy but it's not like that at all. My cat runs around and plays with her and my dog just sits there and let her climb all over her. she even cleans her sometimes. She probably think it's her baby. Thank you thou.

i wish i coudl take her ... i used to have 2 ferrets (not at the same time) and they're so freakin' cute! love them!
unfortunately, i have a bird, and ferrets like to eat birds so that's not a good mix ... sorry :(

I would take her in a heartbeat, but I don't think DH would let me get another pet. We already have two bearded dragons and an iguana, so we have 3 huge tanks around the house as it is. But I'll ask him - he's always wanted a ferret

I'm in the same boat... and bring on the waterworks.. i've been making myself SICK over this... I've had Lilo for 8 years and I can't take her with me when we get married. I thought for sure my mother would want to keep her (Lilo is MY baby and my mothers grandbaby)... (fluck, i'm crying)... well my mother said i should start looking into shelters.
I just can't do it... she has external tumors that rupture, she doesn't act like she's in pain- i KNOW her-... but i can just imagine not 1 day after dropping her off she'll get one and they'll put her down.. she has so much life in her!
and I don't want to give her to a shelter where she might not get along with other ferrets (she's a bitchh.. she bites when we go to the pet store) OR that she'll bite her new owner (she bites EVERYONE but me and my mom)....
she sleeps in my room on a blanket next to my bed.. she has a tweety doll thats her baby (seriously ask her where her baby is and she'll go to it).
I just CAN NOT give her up!
I'm praying that my mother will just keep her if i agree to come over daily and spend time with her and clean the cage and everything... I really want to take her with me, but FH hates her ( ) and FMIL doesn't like her and FFIL said NO PETS (we're renting from them)...
I know she's old and is on her way out, (sob) but like... I can't just put her down or discard her like she's nothing..
okay i need to stop. i'm getting looked at.

I know how you feel.. Coconut and Hemmy we both saved for being put down... Coconut was returned to the pet store for biting and was going to be sent back to the breeder.... so we saved him 1st. Hemmy AKA Hemmy R Oids was put on regular ferret food when he was too young and got hemroids.
I could never send Vikki to a shelter or pet store not after coconut and Hemmy. How old is your Lilo?

she's 8. i got her when she was a kit. she was 7 weeks when i got her on Nov 8, 2002. so her birthday just passed. this is her about 2 weeks later.
um.. christmas about 2 or 3 years ago:

lilo in my laundry about 1½ years ago
with her 'baby' while visiting me at work.. she had ECE (fatal in most ferrets) and I refused to leave her side... i fed her babyfood every 2-3 hours.. and gatorade with chicken broth.
fairly recent... only a few months old.

Aww Im so sorry. :(
FH said no ferrets ever again after our beloved Niko passed. he was crushed and he hasn't gotten over it. Our husky just died in his arms 2 weeks ago and I worry he wont recover from that. I wont even tell you how long it took for him to allow me to bring him to the vet so they could send him to the crematorium.
sigh..I miss my Niko. he was a monster! lol

OMG all these ferret stories are making me tear up! We had 2 at one point. they were like my babies! One died from cancer 3 years ago. I had to put my other one to sleep 3 weeks, a week before the wedding. It was heartbreaking! I hope you find a home for your baby!!!!
